Was it the Cocaine that Got Billy Mays?

Billy Mays, the pitchman that launched many products into the world, may not have led a totally clean life. His autopsy, which revealed heart failure as the cause of death, also found cocaine as a contributing factor.

There was more in there as well. Reports also have Mays taking the prescription meds hydrocodone, oxycodone, and tramadol for pain, and the anti-anxiety drugs alprazolam and diazepam.*

That is quite a cocktail. I can’t imagine cocaine mixing well with those other meds, or with a heart condition.

The family is not happy with this finding and are seeking an independent autopsy to clear Mays of cocaine use.

I hope the family gets the answers they are looking for. If the cocaine use is true and contributed to Mays’ death, that is yet another tragedy to add to the books in the world of celebrity.

Talk about eating your own. It is sad.
