Rocket City Riot have two albums coming at you. For their 10th anniversary, they are re-recording their first album. How cool is that. We have Rocket Launcher from that album. For the second release, it is all new and tentatively titled “Saturday Night Angels.” We have “Where We Begin” from that release. It is great when we get new stuff from the Royal Court!

In the return of the Stupid Celebrity Crap segment, we have some goodies for you. Billy Mays liked the coke, and we don’t mean soft drinks, at least that is what his autopsy says. The Abdul, as in Paula, is being courted by both the dancing reality shows. Who would have thought she would work again? And just to round it out, Joaquin Phoenix is still batty, and decides to go shopping. Fun stuff.

Hey Everyone, welcome back to Reaching for Lucidity. It is February 8, 2009 as we record this episode, which is episode 407. Yeah, we call it episode 406 in the show, but then we are not big on facts here.

We have an all new equipment setup, and now we can get back to work. The last couple of shows have had horrible sound, and I tried to mask it, effect it, crunch it, whatever, but the fact is my equipment needed an upgrade. Upgrade now done, it is back to the grind.

We are going to have three Quickjab artist spotlight shows this week, starting with this one.

Today, we have the Japanese band President Gas in our Quickjabs Artist Spotlight. Any longtime listener will know I have a strange fixation with elements of Japanese culture. If you are not a longtime listener, well, now you know as well.

The First Full Show of 2009!

Oh yes, it is the Juggernaut, which is normally Hard Rock and Metal Friday, but this week it is Hard Rock and Metal Saturday. We have music from around the globe to kick your ass today.

We have bands from around the world for your ears. From The Netherlands, we have Chiraw and Non Devine. From California, we have favorites In Silence. From Nevada, we have royal court members Darque Carnival. From Washington, we have Lucid. And from Norway, we have K9!

That is a lot of great hard rock and metal music! Seriously!

But you know it would not be RfL 2.0 if that is all we offered you. We have our look at celebrity birthdays as well as trivia from Jan 24th. How about the first beer can? That is interesting, right? How about the gold rush? What about the product that got us all saying “anal Leakage?” Even the Eskimos, pies, and indirectly, Steven King, play into all of this.

Sj takes the reigns to tell us what happened to the stars of the movie, “The Breakfast Club”, and even confuses Judd Hersch with Judd Nelson. What an idiot! And just for kicks, he also let’s us know just why Andy Dick is, well, a total dick.

That is a lot to fit into a show, but we do it, mistakes, mis-takes, and all.

It may not always be pretty, but it is always fun.

For the first time ever, RfL goes into a trance, the trance stylings of DJ and Producer Makrolon, that is.

Yep, Trance.

It is episode 401, and I thought it would be a good time to try something different. Since it is a Quickjabs today and not a full show, I figured why the hell not.

The show is all about DJ and Producer Makrolon from Croatia. He is a classically trained musician and is just at ease with Mozart as with the electronic scene.

Still, no Mozart in sight today. All trance.

These songs are remixes and reworked pieces from Makrolon’s impressive catalog.

Also, we hear from our buddy Brent Bradley. He sent a great audio clip for the 400th episode, but I got the email after I recorded the show, so we hear it today. Brent is the host of Podshow Radio, which is one of the best music shows on the net. Get over there and subscribe!

Wow, #399!

We are actually going to hit episode 400 on Friday as planned. But first, let’s take care of this show.

We are focusing this quickjabs on two incredibly talented ladies, and longtime royalty at Reaching for Lucidity. We have two songs each by Karmyn Tyler and Cheryl B. Engelhardt. And yes, that makes for a great show.

Another thing you may notice is this Wednesday Coffee House is coming out on a Thursday. Well, the show was recorded on time, my sites at Dreamhost were unfortunately going down, then back up, then down again yesterday. This website highway to hell was keeping me from posting yesterday. Hey, one day late is not too bad, eh. We have had worse here.

I normally love Dreamhost, but lately, things have been a little wonky. (actually that is not totally true. Dreamhost has offered the best hosting experience I have ever had online. I, with no hesitation, endorse their services)

Well, being sick is not fun.

But, I am on the mend right now. I am still having a lot of trouble with my left ear. I can barely hear out of it, and as a media producer – an audio guy to be more specific, this is not a good thing. I may be making a trip to the doctor soon.

The trip to Cali for the orientation for my new job went great, other than the cold. The new position is more than I thought and I am being given a long leash to prove the power of social media to drive business. I love situations like this, it is up to me to make or break it, and that is cool.

For those that do not know, I am the E-commerce Director for the Wake Forest branch of Certified Golf. So now let’s see just how many heads I can blow in this position. My boss in Wake Forest and the big guys in Cali seemed to scratch their heads about my ideas, but are excited enough about what I said to let me go and prove my points.

How is that for an adventure?

Well, that is my update for now. Look for a new Wednesday Coffee House and show #400 on Friday. Yes, it will be a Juggernaut, and it will rock hard! Also, check out the Monday show, which features indie artist and podcaster, Cush.
